Training Options

While the amount of time required to complete the training course varies, it generally takes 8-14 training days for most of our students to gain the requisite skills, experience, and confidence necessary to achieve the level of independence, consistency, and competence we desire for them. To best meet the needs of our students, we offer multiple Basic Training options including Full-Time Training, Part-Time Training, and Introductory/Progression Training.

Full-Time Training

This training plan is best for students who want to learn how to fly paramotors in the most efficient manner possible. We consider Full-Time training to be our most-preferred training plan, which puts students on the most direct path towards becoming fundamentally sound and knowledgeable entry-level paramotor pilots. Although the training fee includes up to 14 days of active training, this program is intended to be completed within 7-12 consecutive days, which is mostly dependent on the weather. Generally, these sessions are offered on a monthly basis between May and September at our Hartford, WI campus. The training fee for the Full-Time training plan is $3,000.00 with a $700.00 deposit required to reserve a seat in a training session. Our current schedule for Full-Time training can be found here.

Part-Time Training

This training plan is best for students who want to become fundamentally sound and knowledgeable entry-level paramotor pilots, but cannot devote 7-12 consecutive days to Full-Time training; while not as direct or efficient as the Full-Time training plan, it does offer more flexibility in scheduling while utilizing the same training curriculum. The training fee for the Part-Time training plan is $3,500.00. Although this training fee includes up to 20 total days of active training, this program is intended to be completed within 10-14 non-consecutive days, which is mostly dependent on weather, frequency of training sessions, and various other scheduling factors. When considering these factors, it’s important for prospective students to understand that the Part-Time training plan will require more time and effort to complete compared to Full-Time training. Students have 4 calendar months from beginning training to complete their training (i.e. the last day of the 4th month).

Introductory/Progression Training

This training plan is best for prospective students who are not yet fully committed to the decision to learn how to fly paramotors. This training plan is also suitable for pilots with previous training or experience, or specific training goals in mind (i.e. refresher training, skills refinement, or ground school lessons). While not a replacement for Full-Time or Part-Time training, this program can be tailored to fit a pilot’s individual goals or desired learning outcomes. This option is not intended to serve as an abbreviated training plan or substitute for complete training.

Candidates for this program will be evaluated and approved on a case-by-case basis by the ParAmerica staff, which may decide that the student’s goals exceed the intent or scope of the program. The initial $500.00 training fee includes up to 3 training sessions which last approximately 2-4 hours in the morning, afternoon, or evening, and include briefings and debriefs. If students desire to continue training beyond the initial 3 training sessions, they will be asked to pay a training fee of $150 per session. If students decide to pursue Full or Part-time training after the initial 3 training sessions, they will be credited for areas of the syllabus previously accomplished, and the remaining training fee will be adjusted accordingly.
